A school based pantry program is to help alleviate child hunger

through the provision of food to children and their families at school.

School based pantries are located on the grounds of a school

intended to provide a more readily accessible source of food

assistance to low-income students and their families. Sites are

consistently in the same location as the school's campus, have

set distribution schedules and offer ongoing food assistance services.

Research tells us that children experience even occasional hunger, they may have trouble concentrating, aggressive tendencies, stunted growth, and increased likelihood of obesity.

Southeast Missouri Food Bank will address childhood hunger in our community by partnering with area school districts, local volunteers organizations, and sponsors to create awareness and generate funds to establish and expand the Children Feeding Programs to feed hungry children.

Volunteer:

You can also help by volunteering your time to assist families that are receiving food at the pantry on a weekly basis. You can contact Amanda Winschel at the information below to sign-up as an individual or a group.
