Together, We Can Fight Hunger.
Often, small, rural Southeast Missouri towns lack the resources to provide basic social services to families in need.  Southeast Missouri Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry fills gaps in emergency food assistance.  Each distribution can serve up to 350 people, providing clients with a variety of different food items. Distributions typically run 2-4 hours and conssist of -up to 8,000 pounds of product delivered in a beverage style truck with roll-up bay doors.

Removing Barriers.
Southeast Missouri Food Bank helps remove the barriers to food access and stigma associated with food insecurity by addressing the unique needs in the community educating the public about the often hidden face of food insecurity. Through education and outreach efforts, the Mobile Food Pantry helps non-profits and other organizations gain the support needed to help raise funds and engage the community.

A Community Partnership
We partner with individuals, civic groups, and non-profit  organizations in  our sixteen county service area. Partners provide volunteers and a site for distribution , and they help spread the word about upcoming distributions. These partners promote each distribution through all media outlets. The client or the sponsoring organization will be responsible for supplying bags and/or boxes.

Become a Distribution Site.
Is your agency or organization interested in hosting a mobile food pantry distribution? Southeast Missouri Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry Coordinator will prepare the truck, deliver the food, and assist volunteers with set-up and distribution.  A mobile food pantry can be hosted virtually anywhere. For safety reasons, Mobile distributions must take place on pavement with no overhead hanging wires. Southeast Missouri Food Bank will provide all tables used during distribution.
